THE PROBLEM

Settlement in the foundations and ground slabs was observed with poor ground conditions and possible water ingress beneath the production plant structure

THE SOLUTION

The affected area, including slabs and foundations, was stabilised and successfully uplifted to its pre‑occupancy level. The chemical tank was also stabilised while keeping the plant fully operational

Customer needs

The plant owner needed to stop further settlement,restore floor levels, and stabilise a sensitive chemical tank, all with minimal disruption to ongoing production

OBJECTIVES
To stabilise the foundations and ground slabs, restore floor levels to pre‑occupancy condition, and ensure the plant remains fully operational throughout the treatment process.

THE SOLUTION

A Soil Stabilization and Re‑levelling programme was applied to the entire slab area using an injection grid at 1.5 m spacing, with 190 injection points to stabilise the soil 3.0 m below the slab‑on‑grade. The same injection tubes were then used to lift the sunken slab‑on‑grade areas back to target levels. Deep injections were also carried out beneath selected isolated footings, stabilising and uplifting the foundations to depths of 3–6m to ensure the steel structure was fully supported.

OUTCOME

We completed the programme of work on time, stabilised the structure, and ensured the production plant will remain safe and operational for decades to come.
